About myRunID

A way back.
To each other.

Two runners smiling as a lost running cap is returned on a park trail.

I love that moment after a long run when the world feels a little lighter. Your legs have done the hard part, the runner’s high has arrived, and you’re already thinking about breakfast. Then you pat your pocket. Once. Twice. Your keys aren’t there. Suddenly, you’re running a bonus lap nobody put on the training plan.

I think we’ve all felt that awful drop from joy to panic. We check the same pocket again, as if it might reconsider. Sometimes it’s an expensive watch. Sometimes it’s a cap from a first marathon, or a little gift that means more than anyone else could guess. To someone passing by, it’s just a thing on the ground. To the person retracing their steps, it can feel like a small piece of their life has gone missing.

That feeling is where myRunID begins. I wanted to give the person who stops to pick something up a simple way to reach the runner missing it. A global lost-and-found platform built around a small act of care: notice something, take a moment, help it home. No account needed to return an item. No need to put your email or phone number on a tag. Just a runner’s ID, a private connection, and someone willing to help.

But I wanted that ID to carry the happy parts, too. Your myRunID is also your global runner passport: your races, your personal bests, your story, wherever you run. You choose what to share. Friends and family can see the miles they’ve cheered you through; a fellow runner can discover the person behind a name. The same identity that celebrates your journey can help your belongings find their way back to it.

And I hope some returns lead to more than a relieved thank-you. Maybe a conversation becomes a familiar face at the next starting line. Maybe you find a new running friend along with your missing cap. That’s the community I want us to build: trust between strangers, one shared passport and one small kindness at a time. I can’t promise we’ll stop losing things. But I’d love the next runner who checks an empty pocket to have one more reason to believe someone will help.

EVERY MILE. ALL OF US.
